Come for the view, stay for the snow – The best ski touring opportunities surrounding Flåm & Aurland
Blåskavlen (1.804 masl.)
The highest mountain in Aurland municipality is a great destination for intermediate skiers. And what is better than combining a sports activity with beautiful views? On clear days you will be able to overlook large parts of the fjord and mountain landscape of coastal Norway.
How to get there: From our Aurland accommodations, it is only a 20-minute ride to Kvammadal, where the path to Blåskavlen starts. There, you´ll find dedicated parking from where you can start your adventure. We recommend using tour apps from Ut.no or Norgeskart.net for navigating your way, since there is no signage for the trail during the winter.

Prest (1.478 masl.)
A shorter version of the Blåskavlen tour is the tour to Mount Prest. From this mountain top you´ll have the most panoramic view over the fjords. It is suggested to choose the route up Vetlabotna and continue from there towards the viewpoint.

Vatnahalsen and Myrdal
Combine your skiing adventure with a trip on the world famous Flåmsbana. Both Flåmsbana summit stations, Vatnahalsen and Myrdal, are great starting points for your ski touring adventure. You can find a variety of tours for all levels.
How to get there: The Flåmsbana Station is located right at the harbour in Flåm and just a couple of meters from our Flåm Station Apartments. If you are staying at one of our Aurland accommodations, it is a 10-minute car or bus ride to the station.

Reinungavatnet lake to Seltuft
If you are a ski touring beginner or haven´t been on skies for a while, the trip from Vatnahalsen to Seltuft is a wonderful tour for you. It crosses iced lakes and gives you the full experience of high mountain landscape. This route is accessible in most conditions.
If you look for a longer and more challenging tour in this area, you can make the top tour all the way up Tarven (1704 masl.). This trip stretches for about 14 km and a primary factor of about 748 m.
